The Art Behind Every Pair of Glasses
Each pair of CLARISSA OLIVERIO ART TO WEAR glasses is born from a creative process that combines traditional Italian craftsmanship and contemporary design. Discover how I transform artistic vision into unique glasses that are true works of art to be worn.
Inspiration and Concept
Everything that's aesthetically beautiful and harmonious interests and inspires me. When creating my brand, I decided to start with accessories because I believe they can elevate a person's entire look. Accessories take up little space and must also be functional for the wearer. They're very complex to create if you want to create something unique and special, yet stronger than the overall look. A good pair of glasses or a bag, a nice pair of shoes, are definitely designed to last longer over time and support the way a person presents themselves to the world in a more definitive way than a shirt or a pair of trousers.
Why Start with Sunglasses?
The idea of starting with sunglasses came about because, when I was 18, I realized how a pair of Gucci glasses with blue or yellow lenses could make me recognizable in a city as big as Milan. I grew up exposed to the Milan of fashion, that relentless city where you either feel special and express it through how you present yourself to others, or you disappear anonymously among thousands of faces.
It all starts with inspiration. Each collection is born from an idea, an emotion, an artistic movement. I study shapes, colors, and textures to create designs that are not only functional, but that immediately define a person's face and vision. My mission is to "make people feel noticed and remembered," because let's face it, there's nothing more beautiful than being seen by others; connection is truly what we all ultimately seek.
I know how to do it, and I do it through aesthetics, creating objects that are beautiful, harmonious, unique, and above all, long-lasting because they are well-made, conveying the importance of a luxurious, Italian object.
Glasses, bags, shoes, clothing—I don't have a favorite, I want to make them all. I'm not an eyewear fanatic, and I don't belong to the "optics world," but I belong to all those who have understood that glasses are undoubtedly the most impactful accessory and feel the need to pursue their art. The Selection of Materials
Quality is paramount. I carefully select premium materials that guarantee durability, comfort, and style. From the Italian cellulose acetate frames, each material is chosen for its unique characteristics and its ability to express my design. The design phase can take up to three months, but the resulting collection is designed to last for many years. It's definitely worth it.
Artisanal Workmanship
From selecting and treating the inserts, to their insertion on the temples or fronts, everything is done by hand. I personally oversee the process, putting my heart and soul into it, aiming to make each piece a piece that helps the wearer express their beauty and harmony. This artisanal process ensures that each pair is unique.
Quality control
Before reaching you, each pair of glasses undergoes rigorous quality controls. We verify the perfect fit, the durability of the materials, the precision of the lenses, and the quality of the finishes. I always remain open to reconditioning them; over time, I've found that for those who wear them, including ourselves, a sort of emotional connection is generated with that accessory.
