For the Hand-Woven Silk Velvet Collection, Clarissa sought to blend historic Italian excellence with a thoroughly modern and glamorous vision. She personally studied how to transform hand-woven velvets—made on late 19th-century Florentine looms—into acetate using techniques inspired by the Italian Renaissance.
In his studio, the velvet is first treated on the backing, then hand-cut to the seamless edge. It is carefully inserted into the acetate with a permanent adhesive that maintains its hold in any condition, whether wet, hot, or cold. The exceptional craftsmanship of the hand-woven velvet and brocade ensures the fabric's durability for generations, echoing the longevity of the garments once worn by nobility and preserved in historic museums.
Clarissa Oliverio's craftsmanship is a celebration of Italy's rich textile heritage, reinvented through a modern and glamorous lens. Each piece is unique. The design of the hand-woven velvet in Florence dates back to 16th-century Italy.
Each piece in the Couture Velvet collection is handcrafted from precious Italian acetate and meticulously handcrafted in Italy, reflecting the finest traditions of Italian craftsmanship. Clarissa Oliverio personally oversees every step, ensuring exceptional quality and attention to detail.
To preserve the exclusivity of each design, we produce limited editions of only 300 pieces per model and color, making each piece truly unique. Each creation is built to last and comes with a three-year warranty, a testament to the durability, craftsmanship, and care invested in each piece.
Combining rare materials, timeless techniques, and contemporary design, this collection embodies timeless elegance, innovation, and the art of wearable majesty.
